Warsaw UNIT honored in London
Warsaw UNIT is the best skyscraper in Poland – this is the verdict of the international jury of the European Property Awards, which honored the Ghelamco’s project in the Commercial High-rise Development category. This is another developer’s skyscraper which wins an award in this prestigious competition.
Warsaw UNIT, located in the Wola district of Warsaw, received the award among others commercial high-rise buildings. The jury rated the building in terms of innovative solutions, safety, location, architecture and sustainable construction principles. The European Property Awards were presented on 24th October in The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
“Warsaw UNIT is our next project in the new city centre of Warsaw, which we originated with the construction of the Warsaw Spire. We are proud of discovering the business potential of this part of the city and the fact that our activities were followed by other developers. This confirms Ghelamco’s position as a leader on the commercial real estate market, and so does the another award in such a prestigious competition as European Property Awards,” says Jarosław Zagórski, Sales and Development Director at Ghelamco Poland.
Warsaw UNIT is the newest Ghelamco project in the growing business district of Warsaw. Over 200-metre high skyscraper located at Rondo Daszyńskiego 1 will provide about 57,000 sq. m of modern office space on 45 floors.
One of the unique features of Warsaw UNIT will be its architecture, especially the kinetic Dragon Skin facade. It will visibly react to every, even the most gentle puff of wind, forming on its surface unique images modelled by forces of nature.
The investment is very popular among tenants – in June 2019, Warta signed a lease agreement for almost 20,000 sq. m on the 11 highest floors of the office building. The high-rise building will become the new headquarters of the insurance company for the next ten years. The project is planned to be completed in early 2021.
Warsaw UNIT is not the first Ghelamco project honored in the European Property Awards. Last year The Warsaw HUB received an award in the same category. Moreover, Warsaw Spire – the first Ghelamco skyscraper built at Rondo Daszyńskiego – won in 2017 the prestigious MIPIM Award in Best Office & Business Development category.
